Duck Derby Details
Adopt a duck for $5 and cheer it on as it races down the waterslide on the last day of the 2025 Smalley Pool season! Ducks will enter at the top of the slide, race into a channeled finish lane, and be pulled out in order as they cross the line. Each duck is numbered to match your ticket. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners!
How It Works
• Each $5 donation enters one duck into the race.
• You’ll receive your ticket numbers by email, matching the number on the bottom of your duck.
• Spectators welcome! Our inaugural Duck Derby kicks off at 3:00 PM at Smalley Pool.
• Online duck adoptions close August 9 at 11:59 PM. Ducks can still be adopted in person on race day up to 10 minutes before the race begins.
• “Ducks only” race—spectators must stay in roped-off areas.
• Winners will be announced on-site after the race (you don’t need to be present to win).
• Race results will also be posted on the Elmhurst Parks Foundation website and social media.
• All proceeds benefit the Elmhurst Parks Foundation’s Recreation Assistance Fund. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
